Job Requirements:
Education: Minimum secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a child caregiver and at least 1 year of experience as a child caregiver for children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities; A nursing degree or related experience would be considered an asset.
Language requirement: English

Duties and Responsibilities
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary and medical guidelines;
• Maintain accurate records of feedings, medications (if applicable), and daily care activities;
• Bathe and dress;
• Discipline child according to the methods requested by the parents;
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home;
• Tend to emotional well-being of child; Address behavioral challenges with understanding and sensitivity to the child’s specific condition;
• Accompany the child to medical appointments, therapy sessions, or school as needed;
• Organize, activities such as games and outings for child;
• Supervise and care for child;
• Administer first aid in emergency situations and follow all care protocols;
• Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents;
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties incidental to care for child (e.g., cleaning up after the meals, assisting child with cleaning up toys);
• Shop for food and household supplies incidental to care for child (e.g., items for child’s meals, child’s toiletries); and
• Wash, iron and press child’s clothing and other child’s items (e.g., child’s towels and bedding)
Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum 3 year of experience as a child caregiver
• Secondary high school graduation certificate or equivalent;
• First Aid Certificate;
• A nursing degree and related experience would be considered an asset;
• Certificate in Accommodating SEND Behavioural Needs (Early Years) or equivalent training in supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) would be considered as an asset.
